Lamu is an old Swahili town that started in the 14th Century. It is an island, a town and an archipelago made of seven islands and several islets.

Lamu town is crowded with houses and people, the streets so narrow and some people make fun of it that you can shake hands with your neighbor in the house opposite. There are no vehicles on the island and this leaves dhows and donkeys as the only means of transport.

Dwellers of Lamu are great believers of tradition and custom, and this is a strong society built on a respect for the past which they hold dearly and close to their hearts. They have maintained the historical architectural structures.

Day 1: NAIROBI-LAMU
On arrival from your flight from Nairobi arrive at Manda airstrip. Pick up and transfer by boat to your hotel in Lamu.

Day 2: LAMU
Breakfast at the hotel, mid morning at leisure. Later you will take a guided tour to the towns oldest mosques along the alleys. You will also experience the historical architect of the famous Lamu doors.

Day 3 :LAMU
This day you will spend it at leisure on the island. You can access other islands like shela on foot. Walking by yourselves on the island is a very good experience to have a touch of the welcoming nature of the Lamu people.

Day 4:DEPARTURE
After lunch transfer by boat to Manda airstrip for your scheduled flight to Nairobi.
